Why is workplace wellness a real deal?
Employees spend an average of 9 hours at work per day, so worksites are an excellent venue for promoting healthy habits.
By investing in a worksite wellness program, employers can expect reductions in sick leave, absenteeism, health care costs, workers compensation claims, disability management, and employee turnover.
A healthy employee is vitally important to the workplace as a whole and has a significant impact on an employer’s bottom line.
For every dollar spent on worksite wellness there is a savings of $3 to $6.
More and more employers are focusing on prevention and investing in worksite wellness as a way to curb the cost of employee health care insurance.
The Affordable Care Act focuses on using our health care resources judiciously and includes several provisions to promote good health and reduce demand for care due to preventable conditions. These include preventative screenings and prevention information
